Manchester United was listed on the NYSE by the Glazer family in 2012. It is solely covered by US brokers and had undertaken limited investor marketing activity in Europe. UK fund manager Nick Train, renowned for his ‘buy and hold strategy’, has been adding to his sizeable stake in Manchester United following an introduction and continued meetings with management arranged by the IR team at Edison. He shares responsibility for the £3.9bn Lindsell Train Global Equity fund with Michael Lindsell and is sole manager of the firm’s £4.8bn UK equity fund.
