This edition leads with Edison’s head of mining, Charlie Gibson’s view that the balance of probability has swung towards a further round of quantitative easing by the Federal Reserve. Despite the confusing message from the Fed, he believes that with continuing weakness in the real economy, and the fact that the last rounds were only sufficient to refinance the banks, means that QE3 is inevitable.
