Percheron Therapeutics (ASX:PER) FY26 results broadly in line, HMBD-002 in Focus
Published by Jyoti Prakash, CFA

Percheron Therapeutics’ FY26 results (12 months ended June 2026) were broadly in line with our expectations operationally, although we note that the investment case is increasingly centred on execution of the HMBD-002 clinical programme rather than near-term earnings. Net loss narrowed 68% to A$4.8m from A$14.9m in FY25, driven primarily by materially lower R&D expenses of A$2.1m (vs A$10.8m in FY25) as spending on the legacy ATL1102 programme wound down. R&D expenses were also modestly below our A$2.5m forecast. Operating cash outflow improved materially to A$5.0m from A$15.6m, and the company ended FY26 with net cash of A$4.1m, supported by the A$2.2m equity raise in April 2026. Percheron also recognised an A$0.7m FY26 R&D tax incentive receivable.

Looking ahead, liquidity remains the key financial consideration. In addition to planned clinical expenditure, Percheron has c A$1.4m of contractual commitments relating to the HMBD-002 licence from Hummingbird Bioscience, of which we believe 50% was paid in July, with the remainder due by end-September. We therefore estimate that additional capital or a partnering transaction will likely be required during Q1 CY27. Operationally, HMBD-002 drug-substance manufacture is complete, and the adaptive Phase II study remains targeted to commence in H2 CY26. Trial initiation is therefore the principal near-term catalyst and an important step towards generating the efficacy data needed to unlock partnering interest and potential valuation upside.
