More on this equity

Edison’s investment companies team recently published a review on Murray International Trust (ticker: MYI), which is managed by Bruce Stout, Martin Connaghan and Samantha Fitzpatrick at abrdn. They have worked closely together since 2001, ensuring it will be business as usual when Stout retires at the end of June 2024. Murray International offers investors the prospects of above-inflation income and capital growth and has increased its annual dividend for the last 19 consecutive years, bringing it very close to the 20-year requirement to be classified as an AIC dividend hero. The managers employ a low-risk investment approach, essentially ‘seeking good businesses at good prices’, which should offer a level of protection during periods of stock market weakness. They invest for the long term, meaning portfolio turnover is very low and some names have been in the fund for many years.
