Vantage: Paul Sedgwick of Frank Investments gives his insight into running a balanced portfolio

New to Vantage, we meet Paul Sedgwick, an investment banking veteran who set up Frank Investments, a family office that has expanded. Paul runs a balanced portfolio and fared better than many others who run similar strategies when bond prices shifted in 2022. In part this was due to a stronger focus on equities, where Paul believes that, in the long run, the global economy grows, and he finds ways to capture this growth in his portfolio while managing risk through diversification of sectors and setting 5% limits on overall stock weightings in his portfolio. He tends to invest in the bigger stocks that are household names, and we touch on names like L’Oréal and Nvidia.
