In April, the investment companies team updated investors on a variety of trusts including Seraphim Space Investment Trust, as several of its key holdings are funded to their cashflow break-even, and VietNam Holding, which continues to outperform the Vietnam All Share Index and introduced a share redemption facility allowing shareholders to redeem their shares at NAV each September. abrdn Asian Income Fund posted strong FY23 results, with outperformance versus its benchmark, another dividend increase (meaning a 15-year record of higher distributions) and the board has negotiated a lower fee structure. Utilico Emerging Markets Trust’s manager is upbeat about the trust’s prospects as he believes investors underappreciate the quality of the trust’s portfolio companies. Murray Income Trust has outperformed the market and most peers over the long term and, last year, it decided to allow shareholders to access dividend income more quickly and evenly throughout the year by smoothing quarterly dividend payments.
