In this video, AAC Clyde Space chief executive officer Luis Gomes is interviewed alongside partners Greg Flessate from ORBCOMM and Christer Fuglesang from Saab. AAC, ORBCOMM and Saab recently entered into a collaboration to develop the next generation of space-based VHF Data Exchange System (VDES), marking the beginning of a new era in maritime communications. The satellite, manufactured by AAC Clyde Space, will carry a VDES payload from Saab for two-way communication between the satellite and the ground. ORBCOMM will integrate the data in its distribution centre for maritime communications.
