Today Mutares announced that the company has made a binding offer to acquire ArcelorMittal TrefilUnion SAS from ArcelorMittal Group. ArcelorMittal TrefilUnion SAS is a producer of wires and steel ropes with two plants located in France.
The company’s products are used by a range of industries, including energy, construction, household, agriculture and automotive. Mutares will announce further details related to the transaction after the binding offer will be presented to workers’ representatives of ArcelorMittal TrefilUnion SAS on 24 April 2019.
This would be the first platform acquisition of Mutares in 2019, on top of two add-on investments to Donges Group earlier this year. In February 2019, the company announced the acquisition of Normek Group Oy, a steel building construction and façade solutions company with four production sites in Finland and a project management sales office in Sweden. Subsequently in March 2019, Mutares has signed a purchase agreement for the acquisition of FDT.
