During the conference

Introduction

Jason Paltrowitz of OTC led the conference and began by introducing the keynote speaker, Shai Babad, Director General of the Israeli Ministry of Finance. Mr Babad gave an overview of the changing Israeli economy and detailed the growing cannabis landscape – both medical and recreational – in Israel.

Regulatory landscape

Next on the agenda was the global regulatory landscape panel, where Nick Davis of Memery Crystal, Saul Kaye of iCAN, Mitchell Osak of MNP, Jason Saltzman of Gowling WLG and Daniel Lorber of Barnea all got their chance to speak about the regulatory hurdles and developments they encounter every day in their work in the cannabis space. After individual presentations, Maxim Jacobs, Director of Research, North America facilitated a great Q&A session with the audience.

Accessing US capital

Maxim Jacobs of Edison led a panel with Daryl Fridhandler of BD&P, Ronnie Jaegermann of Aloni Haft Group, Howard Katz of Mackie Research Capital, Robert Cook of the CSE and Jason Paltrowitz of OTC discussing the best routes for Israeli companies to take when looking to access capital from the US. The companies in attendance got a great mix of feedback on the entire process through the diverse panel participants.

Company Presentations

The conference finished with feedback from some very promising companies in the cannabis space. Scott Boyes of MPX International, Jonathan Conforti of Abacus Health, Moti Gross of Leganomics Capital and Consolidated Bank Holdings, and Nir Peles of Cannassure Therapeutics were each given time to speak about their respective companies. Finally, Maxim led another highly interactive Q&A session with the audience touching on the future of cannabis companies.
