QBiotics advances wound healing trial
Published by Arron Aatkar, PhD

QBiotics has completed dosing for the third cohort in its Phase I clinical trial of EBC-1013 and will advance to the fourth of five possible dose levels. An independent safety committee found no dose-limiting toxicities or other safety concerns. The placebo-controlled Australian study is assessing the safety, tolerability and therapeutic window of the topical treatment in patients with venous leg ulcers. EBC-1013 is a novel small molecule being developed for chronic and acute wounds and burns. Management stated that the results strengthen confidence in the drug’s safety profile and support its continued development for difficult-to-heal wounds.
