Enterprise Therapeutics, an IP Group portfolio company, has reported positive results from its Phase II clinical trial for ETD001, its lead candidate for the treatment of cystic fibrosis.
The trial evaluated the efficacy, safety and tolerability of inhaled ETD001 in the 10% of cystic fibrosis patients with the highest unmet medical need, achieving its primary efficacy outcome. Data demonstrated a clinically meaningful improvement in lung function over a 28-day period compared to placebo, with ETD001 shown to be well-tolerated in this patient population.
Enterprise has outlined plans to advance ETD001 into longer-duration Phase IIb studies, both as a standalone treatment and in combination with CFTR modulator therapies, as well as in other muco-obstructive lung diseases where high unmet need remains.
