Market Strategy – The market mirage

Market Strategy – The market mirage

In this month’s edition, Alastair George, Edison’s strategist, outlines why he believes the recent equity and credit market rally is not supported by the facts and may represent a mirage. To date, corporates have remained highly cautious. Alastair believes this is the correct strategy, given the high level of medium-term uncertainty. The window for opportunistic M&A has closed as market valuations have risen. Corporates wishing to attract interest from income-oriented shareholders should keep yield and security of corporate cash flow uppermost in mind.
