Executive Interview – Arria NLG

Executive Interview – Arria NLG

Arria listed on AIM in December 2013 to support the commercialisation of its proprietary Natural Language Generation (NLG) technology. This technology analyses large quantities of data, interpreting them into a written report that people can understand and on which they can take action. The company’s lead two clients are Shell, which uses the technology to interpret data from sensor networks on oil platforms, and the Met Office, which uses it to automatically produce highly local weather forecasts.

In this interview, Dr Robert Dale, chief strategy scientist and CTO of Arria details the origins of the NLG technology and explains how the lead two customers are using the technology in practice. He also discusses the company’s plans to make the technology ubiquitous and how Arria plans to develop the linguistic sophistication of the technology further.
