The team: Edison Investor Relations is an outsourced investor relations team that manages tailored programmes for both UK and non-UK listed companies, targeting a range of investors, including institutional investors, private client brokers and boutique funds. The IR team conducts all investor-facing work including the planning and execution of non-deal roadshows, events, conferences, perception surveys, investor feedback and targeted research outreach. The current team works alongside Edison’s highly regarded and award winning, research analysts.
Edison is looking to appoint a Director, Investor Relations to continue to build out our offering on a UK and European basis. The successful candidate will be expected to both maintain our existing relationships and to substantially grow the size of this, targeting companies and investors.
The role: You will have overall responsibility for the management of a large client base, a team of [3] staff and a variety of business partners. You will look to achieve market leadership with our current service offerings and to broaden further our range of services and geographies served. Working with the senior Edison leadership, you will be responsible to ensuring ambitious growth targets are achieved in terms of client numbers, revenue, EBITDA and other KPIs. You will also provide commercial leadership, direction and support to the whole Investor Relations, and motivate them to achieve their targets and objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Overall management of the Investor Relations team
- Developing and executing a commercial strategy for the Investor Relations business unit
- Achieving market leadership for our existing offerings in terms of scale and brand
- Developing the growth of Edison’s range of investor relations services
- Pitching and winning new business opportunities
- Building relationships with partnership companies
- Maintaining the quality and standards of our service delivery
- Managing, training, and motivating key Investor Relations staff
- Maintaining and developing our senior level network
- Working closely with sector commercial heads to ensure Edison’s Investor Relations offerings are achieving our strategic targets and always meet Edison’s quality threshold
Person specification:
- You will have proven investor relations management experience or strong evidence of success in a comparable role (e.g. IR, PR, in-house, broking)
- Experienced gained within an IR consultancy, Investor Relations team, in-house IR, ECM or corporate broking roles.
- Evidence of working in a client /investor-facing capacity; able to interface credibly with clients
- Proven ability to win new business and develop both cold and warm business relationships
- Possess entrepreneurial flair, high energy levels and a determination to succeed.
- Forward thinking and quick to embrace technology solutions within working practices
- Excellent business acumen and project delivery skills
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills
- Ability to set budgets, expectations and deliver results
- Team management experience
- Strategic thinker but also flexible to work in a hands-on capacity
- Desirable: experience of IR work in Continental Europe and knowledge of the European investor community
