Copy editor (full time, 12-month maternity cover)

Key responsibilities

Edit and quality-check Edison content across reports, webpages and related materials, including:

• Correcting spelling, grammar and typographical errors
• Ensuring consistency of house style, tone and formatting
• Checking continuity of presentation, report structure and page layout
• Verifying cross-references and internal consistency (no conflicting statements)
• Cross-checking financial data against analyst models and external company releases
• Formatting and quality-checking charts and tables
• Collaborate with analysts on editorial changes and agree amends efficiently and diplomatically
• Manage publication workflows, liaising with analysts on timelines and helping keep deadlines on track
• Develop and embed new editorial processes with the director of content, ensuring updates are clearly communicated and adopted
• Support onboarding, including training new starters on systems

Skills and experience

• Minimum three years’ editing experience in financial research or a closely related field, with demonstrable attention to detail
• Production experience (eg formatting, layout checks, working to templates and publication standards) preferred
• Strong numeracy and confidence checking financial information and models
• Excellent working knowledge of the Microsoft suite and Adobe Creative Cloud essential
• Knowledge of financial markets and equities is an advantage; SA experience preferred
• Familiarity with Blue Matrix preferred
• Proven ability to own projects end-to-end, juggle multiple priorities and adapt quickly
• Ability to work at pace while maintaining consistently high standards under pressure
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across the business
