Neil Shah, executive director, content and strategy, Edison

Neil has been at Edison for 20 years, leading the analyst teams as director of content and strategy. He has helped establish the company as a leading issuer of sponsored research. Neil has also led Edison’s thought leadership on the equity research market.

Previously, Neil worked at Goldman Sachs as an equities analyst for nine years and is a qualified accountant (PwC). As Goldman’s building and materials analyst in London, he was ranked second by both Institutional Investor and Reuters. He left Goldman Sachs to help set up the specialist trading hedge fund, Tusker Capital.

Jason Paltrowitz, Director, OTC Markets Group International Ltd. and Executive Vice President – Corporate Services

In his dual role as director of OTC Markets Group International and executive vice president of corporate services, Jason manages the company’s international and domestic corporate services business, supporting more than 1,800 companies that trade on the premium OTCQX and OTCQB markets. Leveraging his background in financial services and expertise in cross-border trading, Jason spearheads sales initiatives and alliances to provide issuers with efficient alternatives to raise capital, access US investors and help small-cap companies alleviate the cost and complexity associated with being a public company.

Prior to joining OTC Markets Group International in October 2013, Jason was managing director and segment head at JP Morgan Chase responsible for the custody, clearing and collateral management business in the corporate and investment bank division. Jason also held multiple senior management positions at BNY Mellon, most notably, as head of M&A for the financial markets and treasury services sector and 11 years as the head of the global capital markets group in the depositary receipt division.

Jason served on the board of directors of the Crowdfunding Professional Association from 2017 to 2020. He previously served as a member of the board of directors at OTC Markets Group International from 2008 until 2011. Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Boston University and received his MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.

Randy Baron, portfolio manager, Pinnacle Associates

Randy joined Pinnacle Associates in 2012 and serves as lead portfolio manager of the company’s various international and global products. He is responsible for Pinnacle Associates’ overall international investment strategy. In the first quarter of 2019, the international small cap strategy Randy managed was ranked among the top 10 players in its respective universe. In the second quarter of 2020, he was the number one ranked manager globally among international small-cap funds with an overall quarterly return of over 56%. Randy is also responsible for Pinnacle Associates’ turnaround strategy, which subscribes to the thesis that sometimes high-quality businesses fall (temporarily) out of favour. Randy serves as a member of the investment committee for the company’s all-cap strategy.

Previously, Randy was senior securities analyst at SM Investors (an investment partnership in New York), where his responsibilities included security analysis in various industries encompassing wireless telephony, cable television, food and publishing. Before SM Investors, he worked at JP Morgan and Lazard Freres. Randy’s experience also encompasses an early role alongside Gabelli Asset Management, which is known for its stock-picking expertise.

Randy received a BA in international studies with a focus on economics from Johns Hopkins University. He earned his MA, with highest honours, from Hopkins’ Paul H Nitze School of Advanced International Studies, where his course of study focussed dually on international economics and Latin American studies.

Sean Wade, CEO, Power Metal Resources

Sean is an experienced corporate executive within the natural resource sector, having held senior roles in mining companies including Berkeley Energia PLC, Pensana PLC and Asia Resource Minerals PLC. He has worked on numerous transactions in the capital markets, including IPO’s, secondary capital raising and M&A in a wide variety of different jurisdictions and exchanges. His extensive network covers numerous capital providers, including institutional funds, family offices and private wealth.

Sean started his career at Cazenove & Co in 1993. In 2007 he was a founding shareholder in Liberum Capital. Since 2012, he has worked in corporate business development and investor relations. He founded Scout Advisory Limited in 2020 undertaking consultancy work with various listed and private companies in the resource exploration mining sector.
